thrift store finds

I was so happy to find this wonderful frame and old school book. Not only is the book filled with great music but also wonderful graphics.

Wonderful vintage table cloth. Of course I was thrilled when I saw the donkey on it.

I love vintage sewing products so I was very excited when I found all these goodies hiding in a sewing machine.

New clay doll

She has been in my mind for a long time and finally she is coming to life. She is constructed out of paper clay. I really love this product but it does not dry very smooth, I smoothed out her body with sand paper. Painting the face always scares the hell out of me, but I am very happy with it. I guess I am getting better at it, but have a long way to go.

Upcycled Purse

This wonderful donation to the thrift store would of sat on display forever since it had a huge ink stain on it. I covered buttons with fabric and sewed them on which covered the ink stain but also added a little fun. So back to the thrift store it goes tomorrow and hopefully home with some one soon...

Recycled T-shirt fun!

I bought this great t-shirt last year at Wal-mart. It was of course too small. I will be just as happy to carry it as a bag instead.

Make over for shadow box

A great friend of mine saved this old shadow box from the trash for me. After a lot of scrubbing, I cut out paint chip samples and odd-end pieces of paper I have been saving to line it with. I am really happy with the end result. It looks so small in the photo but it rather large.

Recycled fabric Christmas stockings

Recycled Christmas Stockings

I volunteer for every Nation Thrift Store in Vero Beach, Florida. The proceeds go to a charity for children living in poverty. If interested in sponsoring a child or more information visit. http://www.vivakids.org/ It really is my favorite place to spend time. I made stockings out of only materials I purchased there for very little. They will be returning to the thrift store to be sold. I used old stained linens, old jackets, any piece of clothing that caught my eye usually on the 25 cent rack. For embellishments pins, earrings, again anything very inexpensive it has possibilities.
