It is finally ready, I wanted a nice room for my guest to feel welcome, and not spend alot of money. So I used items from around the house to decorate with. I made the curtains for $20.00. The curtains over the closet saved on buying new closet doors. I made the valance over the closet and the pillow covers out of fabric a friend gave me. The only money I spent was for paint, new closet shelfs, the large european pillow, and the little table on side of bed. Not everything is the what I wanted but for the budget I am happy. I will keep my eyes open at garage sales and thrift stores for special happy things to fill it with.

My friend is closing a fabric store, so I got a great deal on some items. I am getting ready to take over my daughters bedroom since she has moved out for a guest room. Trying to figure out if I can incorporate any of thesse pieces. One piece is a bedskirt and on a window covering. Of course then is paint color any suggestions.

My surprise box!

 

My sweet package from my sister Gail came today full of great stuff, most especially my worry shoes. It came on a day when I needed a smile, my husband has left for Europe then to Iraq.

Little beach girl is almost done, the next step is some color for her face, eyes and such, this part scares me but my sister gave me a great idea to help me with the process so i am feeling much better.

 

She is only 4.5 inches tall. Paper clay and wire. I believe she will be wearing a swim suit.

My father recently had our family photos transfered from slides to photos so I felt inspired to create a book. It is a work in progress. The front page is full of all things that bring home back to me. I grew up in the house in the photo.
