Elephant Circus

I have had a especially hard week and creating which usually I find very relaxing was too much. Coloring seemed like a relaxing idea but no coloring books in the house so I did what came next. I got out my watercolors and just went for it. I really needed something cheerful and happy and this was the result. I cut the piece up and glued them to wood then added a few items and then the beeswax. It is one of those things that bring a child like calmness when stressed. It worked wonders...

Little Black Singer

This little black singer would sit on my dinning room table my whole childhood. I would watch my sister create wonderful things with it. Great stuff animals, clothing, dolls, etc... My brother even got into the act making a frostline snow jacket one year. I also remember my father using it to make a canvas top for our pop up camper. I still remember the days I would plead my sister for left over fabric to create with. Of course she spent more time then she would care to fix the messes I would create with the thread. It still remains the best machine I have and many more great creative creations to come.

Beach Day

I am so enjoying my visit with my sister Gail. We spent the day at the local thrift stores, then on to a great lunch, and then a walk and treasure hunt on the beach. The tide brought in these beautiful jelly fish, the colors were amazing.

My shadow goes in and out with me.

Recycled Pillows

While working at the thrift store I keep walking by the bedding area and see very ugly sad pillows no one wants to take home. It was time for a change. Quick zip on the sewing machine with some thrift store fabric and wow, much better. It will be interesting to see how quick they go.

Vintage apron

I am such a sucker for vintage aprons. The old table cloth fabric came from the thrift store and it was so much sewing up that more will come. This one will be heading back to the thrift to be donated.
